Thank you for choosing to train with The Contemporary Voice Academy / Sally Stanton Voice. By undertaking any of our services you agree to the following terms.
BOOKING Terms
All sessions are to be booked directly – click here to book via Facebook or use our contact form here to request further contact details. Where possible a weekly slot will be found for you, if you are currently on a weekly changeable rehearsal / touring / performing / working schedule you may be added to our flexible training list – this means we will book your sessions week to week depending on mutual availability. Please note under these circumstances we cannot guarantee we will always have a session available for you each week – as always we will do our best to accommodate. If you have been given a regular weekly time slot, that will be held for you unless you express your need to reschedule for that particular week, change your time slot going forward or terminate your lessons.
Payment Terms
We ask all lesson and course fees are paid in advance of the session(s) (for course fee terms – please see each individual course booking details for further information). Lessons can be paid for weekly, or in advance either monthly, every half term or full term – please contact us to confirm exact number of sessions within the specific timeframe.
Payment can be made either via Cash or Bank Transfer (Please request our bank details if you wish to make a transfer) Please note when making a bank transfer for payment, we will require the name of the person attending the services to be named under the “reference” section – for example “Emma T Lesson” or “Emma T 8Wk Course” etc. Please do not just type “Singing Lessons”.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes the unexpected happens and you may need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you let us know as soon as you know you will not be able to make a session.
Please note: We require the industry standard 48 hours for any cancellations.
Due to most of our time slots having waiting lists and the nature of our work, including supporting injured singers our time slots are very valuable to our clients, often singers are needing to book our vocal health support sessions short notice, and so any last minute cancellations result in a slot being left empty unnecessarily and potentially someone missing out, because of this you may be charged for any last minute cancellations. As we do not like to charge unnecessarily and do not want you to lose your lesson fee if it can be helped – we will always try and find an alternative time slot for you if one is available, this will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
We ask that you give as much notice as possible for any holidays / prebooked conflicts. Where possible we will work with you to find an alternative time slot or cancel that weeks session.
Termination of lessons
Unlike some teachers we do not have a notice period for termination of lessons. If we are no longer a good fit either party can chose to terminate lessons at any time – however if you have a lesson booked within 48 hours of terminating lessons you may still be charged under our “Cancellation Policy”
TAKING Online Lessons
Please make sure you have a strong and stable internet connection before agreeing to online lessons. We recommend using a laptop / Mac / tablet for your zoom calls, you will also need a second device for your music / backing tracks. Please do not try and play audio from the device you are calling from as this causes distortion and sometimes prevents us from hearing you!
Connectivity Issues
TCVA / SSV cannot take responsibility for any connectivity issues on your end, if your internet / wifi goes down during a session we will try to reschedule where possible if scheduling allows, but cannot guarantee a replacement time slot. If there are any connectivity issues on our end the remaining time of your session will be rescheduled or added to a future booking.
For TCVA STTA “TEST STUDENTS”
If you are a “Test Student” taking part in our Singing Teacher Training Academy we ask that as much notice is given as possible if you are unable to attend your session. We ask that all “Test Students” take care in their sessions to alert the teacher or course overseer if there are any concerns around their voice or vocal health. “Test Students” are to be aware that a Teacher Trainer will also be present during their online sessions to ensure the vocal training is appropriate for the “Test Student”. Our aim is to ensure all singers who apply to be “Test Students” are given the best experience when working with our teachers and look to support them during their session times. By accepting your application to become a “Test Student” The Contemporary Voice Academy / Sally Stanton Voice are under no obligation to offer you free tuition but will look to partner you with an appropriate student teacher where possible in order for you to participate in our Teacher Training Academy.
By undertaking lessons within The Contemporary Voice Academy or its Singing Teacher Training Academy, you understand you are responsible for your own vocal health, and must alert your teacher in the first instance if you are concerned about your vocal health or experience adverse discomfort. The Contemporary Voice Academy / Sally Stanton Voice does not take responsibility for your vocal health, but will offer advice and guidance where necessary.
