Thank you for choosing to train with The Contemporary Voice Academy / Sally Stanton Voice. By undertaking any of our services you agree to the following terms.
BOOKING Terms
All sessions are to be booked directly – click here to book via Facebook or use our contact form here to request further contact details. Where possible a weekly slot will be found for you, if you are currently on a weekly changeable rehearsal / touring / performing / working schedule you may be added to our flexible training list – this means we will book your sessions week to week depending on mutual availability. Please note under these circumstances we cannot guarantee we will always have a session available for you each week – as always we will do our best to accommodate. If you have been given a regular weekly time slot, that will be held for you unless you express your need to reschedule for that particular week, change your time slot going forward or terminate your lessons.
Payment Terms
We ask all lesson and course fees are paid in advance of the session (for course fee terms – please see each individual course booking details for further information) Lessons can be paid for weekly, or in advance either monthly, every half term or full term – please contact us to confirm exact number of sessions within the specific timeframe.
Payment can be made either via Cash or Bank Transfer (Please request our bank details if you wish to make a transfer) Please note when making a bank transfer for payment, we will require the name of the person attending the services to be named under the “reference” section – for example “Emma T Lesson” or “Emma T 8Wk Course” etc. Please do not just type “Singing Lessons”.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes the unexpected happens and you may need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you let us know as soon as you know you will not be able to make a session.
Please note: We require the industry standard 48 hours for any cancellations.
Due to most of our time slots having waiting lists and the nature of our work, including supporting injured singers our time slots are very valuable to our clients, often singers are needing to book our vocal health support sessions short notice, and so any last minute cancellations result in a slot being left empty unnecessarily and potentially someone missing out, because of this you may be charged for any last minute cancellations. As we do not like to charge unnecessarily and do not want you to lose your lesson fee if it can be helped – we will always try and find an alternative time slot for you if one is available, this will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
We ask that you give as much notice as possible for any holidays / prebooked conflicts. Where possible we will work with you to find an alternative time slot or cancel that weeks session.
Termination of lessons
Unlike some teachers we do not have a notice period for termination of lessons. If we are no longer a good fit either party can chose to terminate lessons at any time – however if you have a lesson booked within 48 hours of terminating lessons you may still be charged under our “Cancellation Policy”
For Online Lessons
Please make sure you have a strong and stable internet connection before agreeing to online lessons. We recommend using a laptop / Mac / tablet for your zoom calls, you will also need a second device for your music / backing tracks. Please do not try and play audio from the device you are calling from as this causes distortion and sometimes prevents us from hearing you!
Connectivity Issues
TCVA / SSV cannot take responsibility for any connectivity issues on your end, if your internet / wifi goes down during a session we will try to reschedule where possible if scheduling allows, but cannot guarantee a replacement time slot. If there are any connectivity issues on our end the remaining time of your session will be rescheduled or added to a future booking.
For In person lessons
As we have a fully booked teaching schedule, our lessons are booked back to back, meaning as one lesson finishes another will begin. It is because of this we ask singers coming for in person lessons to arrive promptly at the beginning of their lesson time, and not before, even arriving five minutes early will be eating into another’s session. We have had singers arrive previously 15-20 mins early for lessons in the past and I hope you understand the need to ensure all of our singers get the privacy they deserve during their lesson times. It is because of this we also need to keep to our prearranged finish times, please bear this in mind if you are being collected after your session.
Please note: We do not have a waiting area.
In cases of illness
Due to the nature of both our work and our clients work being reliant on our overall health, we ask that you do not attend in person lessons if you are ill or potentially contagious, eg have a cold / unexplained coughing / sneezing / stomach bugs / conjunctivitis etc. Catching and spreading illnesses between professional singers and professional voice users is very costly and affects both ours and our clients ability to earn an income, because of this we ask all of our singers to be considerate and not attend in person lessons if they are unwell. In the instance of illness all lessons can be undertaken online, or rescheduled where possible as noted under our “Cancellation Policy”. Please note: No exceptions can be made.
If your illness has affected your voice and you require vocal health / recovery support this can be conducted online very effectively.
